Born and raised in Saskatoon, Deb attended Prince Phillip Elementary School and then graduated from Walter Murray Collegiate. She went on to get her Medical Laboratory Diploma and worked in research in the department of Pathology at the University of Saskatchewan.

Changing career paths completely, Deb then forayed into the world of retail, managing a clothing and jewelry shop in Saskatoon's downtown; she loved it!  The desire to have a business of her own became a driving force that prompted the opening of Hats & That on April 5 2003.   Knowing that her business would fit in perfectly in a funky and artistic neighbourhood, she located her business at 636 Broadway Avenue. 

Now, in addition to her responsibilities as business owner, Deb is an active member of the BBID board and she works hard to support existing events and work toward the development of new programs to further enhance and beautify Broadway.
