On June 25th and 26th, the Broadway Business District will become a living, breathing art gallery. There will be no glass display cases, no “Do not touch” signs, and no museum security guards. The Broadway Art Encounter takes art out of the museum and brings it into the shops and onto the sidewalks of Broadway.
The 2010 Broadway Art Encounter is the sixth annual, running from 10am until 5pm daily. It will feature over 40 artists at over 35 locations. Last year’s event drew an estimated 5,000 visitors, and this year the BBID hopes to attract even more through an extended partnership with the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
Visitors to Broadway can expect to find landscape paintings, fused glass, photography, soapstone carving and many other forms of art from one end of the business district to the other. A number of artists will be on hand to meet visitors and provide demonstrations. Stimulate all of your senses this year at the 2010 Broadway Art Encounter!
